One of the members in CHEER CAMP once described this hustle / go go go / race-to-the-finish feeling perfectly. (Let's call her Callie.) Callie had taken a calligraphy workshop a few months prior, just for fun, and ended up loving it. She bought the supplies, joined an online community with other artists, and got busy pouring her creativity into making these beautiful hand-lettered pieces. 👩‍🎨

Before she knew it, it seemed like everyone in that community had moved on from talking about their art to talking about starting their art businesses! 🥵 Suddenly it was all about pricing, licensing, website design, analytics, and content creation.

She told me it felt like she was hanging out in a beautiful park with a bunch of new friends and then everyone started running some invisible race. 🥴 Imagine being in the middle of a flash mob but you're the only one who didn't get the choreography. Stunned and confused, she looked around and decided she better start running too! She was rushing off to learn all the new things, but she already felt so behind. Deep down she questioned if a) she had what it would take to learn all that new stuff, b) if her work was even close to good enough, and c) if she even really wanted to start a business in the first place?

That's the thing about comparison. It makes you feel behind, and it leads you to start chasing goals that might not reflect what you truly want for your life.

I could write essays on Callie's story and the beautiful transformation she made when she decided to stop running alongside the group and instead forge her own more scenic path by the water where she liked the view and the pace.

Story time.

LET'S WORK TOGETHER!

I'm Laura Kelly, a life & business coach living in Ottawa, Canada with my husband (we've been together since we were 17!) and our two kiddos, Cooper and Jilly.

My daughter may or may not have been named after one of the Real Housewives of New York, which should help to set the tone for my deep, deep love of reality television.

I've been self-employed since I was 21, when I quit my job as a legal assistant to pursue photography full time. In 2018 I realized I had built that business beyond my wildest dreams, and I knew I was ready for a new challenge. Now, I help people like you discover how to quiet their self-doubt so they can fearlessly go after their next goal.

I'm big on romanticizing life, celebrating progress of all sizes, and the impact of long-haul personal development vs. focusing on quick fixes.

Call me LK, or call me "Coach"

Let's talk "happy excuses" that keep us from going after our goals...

I think you'd be an amazing fit for my online community!

Imagine how it would feel to get rid of all that pressure to catch up...

At CHEER CAMP we layer on personal growth & development concepts each month, so that you can quiet the forces of self-doubt, comparison, and imposter syndrome, to harness the confidence to go after whatever it is that you truly care about, on your own terms, at your own pace.

THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR

I'll be popping into your inbox later this week with some more insight into how you can quiet the comparison and the illusion of the ticking clock, to help you focus on your *own* journey. Trust me, that's where the magic happens.

I promise you, what you can accomplish with intentional focus is SO MUCH BETTER than what you'll do by putting a ton of pressure on yourself to succeed. 🙌
