If you listen carefully, you can hear the tiny children peering through the door of our Dad’s basement office, where Scott and I recorded this episode during our Christmas visit. In this episode, I’m introducing you to one of my very favourite people, my older brother of 9 years, Scott Hurren. Yes, friends, that’s my maiden name if you didn’t know me back before I was a Kelly!
We dive into everything from the fear of starting a job with a $0 commission, to what it was like to grow up in a household that praised creativity, and the challenges of entrepreneurship that we both somehow seem to love immensely.
I promise this won’t be the last time Scott will join the podcast, in fact we plan to record an episode every time we find ourselves in the same city. This was just the tip of the iceberg, and yet it’s a meaningful episode about the using the power of your mind and the big picture that guides our actions and steers us into the right place at the right time, as long as we’re willing to explore each path with an open mind.
Episode 11 – The Divinely Orchestrated Life of Scott Hurren
When you accept that every moment in life is a teachable one, that every disappointment and every curveball is an opportunity for you to move and grow and change — Scott Hurren would say that’s the day you become free. An understanding of divine intervention will always be just slightly out of grasp, but it’s a journey that leads to fulfillment.
In this first introduction to my older, wiser, and more eccentric brother, Scott and I look back on our most pivotal moments and the unusual patterns that appear as signs of some greater plan.
Although our businesses couldn’t be more different, it’s a similar type of strength, dedication, and creativity that flows through our veins and encourages us to think outside the box.
